Latest Updates from Our Project:

More art cards unlocked! Another stretch goal revealed!
almost 2 years ago – Wed, Jun 01, 2022 at 05:27:47 AM

Happy Sunday, everyone!

We've just passed the Chris Suhre Art Cards stretch goal, so this set of six oversized cards are now available to be added on to your pledge for $8. These can be used as postcards to send to friends and family, or framed and hung on your wall.

Our next stretch goal will unlock a reprint of the Slipcase for Volumes 1-3. This was a very popular add-on last year, but there have been many folks who missed out and would love to add it to their collection. Looking at how things are going, we'll hit this stretch goal around the same time as we cross the 900 supporters mark. Not too far away now.

And then it's on to expanding the books. Each author has expressed a desire to add the extra pages to their book, planning out what will go in tem already. Let's make it happen for them.

We're close to the "72 hours to go" point of the campaign, so we ask you to share the campaign with everyone you can think of that would be interested in learning more about wonderful miniatures art:

Thank you for all your support!

We have over 800 backers! And FIVE days remaining!
almost 2 years ago – Wed, Jun 01, 2022 at 05:27:29 AM

Good afternoon/evening/morning, everyone!

We passed another great milestone today, and we now have more than 800 supporters here backing this project. Thank you all for your support!

I've had a few questions over recent days asking about both the slipcases and "adding Add-ons", so I figured today's update would focus on those things. Here's a step-by-step for those who would like to upgrade their pledge level to include the slipcase, or would like to add the art card sets, or add another book.

In the image above you can see some screenshots of the process for adjusting your pledge level and increasing your pledge total. Your browser might provide slightly different variations, but generally things will be similar to this.

Step 1: On the front page of the campaign (while you are logged into Kickstarter) you'll see a button that says "Manage your pledge" - click that button.

Step 2: On the next page you'll see a button near the bottom that says "Change your pledge" - click that button.

Step 3: You'll see all of the pledge level options in order, choose the pledge level you would like to switch to (in this case we switched to the books, slipcase, and PDFs).

Step 4: If you would like to get one or more of the Add-ons, simply type in the total value in this box here. In this example we've added $24 to get one of each of the sets of art cards. When the campaign is finished, your total amount will be transported over to the pledge manager (BackerKit) where you'll be able to select the specific items you want.

Step 5: Hit the button at the bottom with your new pledge total.

Step 6: Check to make sure all the details are correct. If not, you can go back and make the adjustments you need to.

Step 7: If everything is correct, click the "Confirm changes" button and you will be all good to go.

It is important to remember that while these changes can be made during the pledge manager, making them now, before the end of the Kickstarter campaign, gets us closer to the upcoming stretch goals, including more pages in the books!

If you have any questions at all, just let me know in the comments below and we'll get you sorted.

And if you would like to hear Tommie and Chris chatting about their love of painting, you can watch it on Tommie's Instagram HERE. It's definitely worth a listen :)

Tommie's Seminar is a go! Now on to the next stretch goals!
almost 2 years ago – Wed, Jun 01, 2022 at 05:26:57 AM

That's right! Overnight we passed another stretch goal, this time for Tommie Soule's online seminar (his first, at the time of writiing) that will be held 4-6 weeks after we start shipping the books so that folks have a chance to read through Tommie's book and prepare some questions about the challenges Tommie presents. This will be open to backers only, and we'll be able to nail down a date and time once we know when we are shipping.

Next up is the set of Chris Suhre artcards stretch goal, where we'll create six oversized artcards that you can use as postcards to sendto friends and family OR frame and put up on your wall!

Slipcases!

After that, we'll be working towards unlocking a reprint of the slipcase for Volumes 1-3. Once the slipcase started shipping earlier this year, those that had missed it started asking us if we had any more, or if it would return? Due to the intense hand-assembly required for each slipcase and the typically low volume, they are not inexpensive. By including these as a stretch goal and and Add-On once we hit that goal, we'll be able to keep the costs to you as low as possible. Please note that due to logistical issues, these will NOT include the actual Volumes 1-3, just the slipcase itself. If you would like to purchase Volumes 1-3, you can check out the best option for you HERE.

Expanding the books!

And then we are on to expanding the books. Each artist has an idea of the things they'd love to include in their expanded books, given the chance, so let's get to these stretch goals and help them bring us all more great material! This expansion won't increase the price of the books for you, our supporters, but it will increase the value so everybody wins! Don't forget to share this link with your hobby-focused friends, every share helps:

Welcome to our new supporters! You have unlocked the Slipcase!
almost 2 years ago – Wed, Jun 01, 2022 at 05:25:20 AM

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening!

What a wonderful way to wake up this morning to see that your support has got us to the much-coveted slipcase for Volumes 4-6! Evetone that wants one of these lovely, high-quality cases can now change their pledge level to one of the new levels to get this Kickstarter-exclusive item!

IMPORTANT: The Slipcase is NOT automatically included. If you would like to add this beauty to your collection you will need to select one of the two new pledge levels. To change your pledge level, simply click on your current level, then click on the new pledge level you would like, and then confirm the change! If you have any troubles, message me here and we'll work out what's going on.

Additionally, we can reveal the next two stretch goals! The first is an online seminar with Tommie Soule (The Miniature Painting Tutor) that will be run for any backer who would like to attend. This will be done approximately a month or so after the books have been shipped to backers so that everyone has had time to get stuck into the methods in Tommie's book. It will be a perfect time to ask about anything you like of the challenges he presents, directly to Tommie himself! Note: this will be a free event for backers-only, and will most likely be run in the afternoon/evening for the US East Coast/UK/EU. We'll do everything we can to capture it too for later viewing by our supporters on the other side of the planet.

The second is a set of six high-quality art cards from Chris Suhre. These lovely cards will feature his favorite pieces and will be available as an Add-on (like the other card sets already unlocked from Tommie and Seyni).

After these goals, we'll be able to start expanding each book, adding more pages of photos and information from our artists!

Listening to Tommie and Vince Venturella!

One of my favorite interviewers (particularly when it comes to interviews of miniatures artists) is Vince Venturella, and to hear him chat with Tommie recently was a great treat! If you missed the livestream, you can check it all out HERE

Sharing is Caring!

As you probably already know, word of mouth is the most important way that you can help any crowdfunding campaign for a small business. We're spending money on advertising and working with wonderful content creators, but it is the personal touch that is best. So, with just 10 days to go in this campaign, we'd love to have you share the campaign again with your friends and fellow painters! Pass them this link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1560579763/the-art-of-volumes-4-6?ref=asxz4t and let's see if we can make this campaign (and books) bigger than they already are!

Thank you all for your support!

You did it! Another stretch goal unlocked.
almost 2 years ago – Wed, Jun 01, 2022 at 05:24:10 AM

Good Morning/afternoon/evening, everyone!

Overnight we have passed another stretch goal, and now we'll be adding a free PDF tutorial from Seyni N'diaye to the list of things everyone will get! I'm excited to see which Chapter Seyni chooses to include in his growing Kill Team.

We're about 85 backers away from reaching the glorious slipcase stretch goal, so we're getting there steadily!

Sharing the campaign with everyone!

We've been sharing the campaign around the world on our various social medias, in podcasts, YouTube channels, and even ads on FB and Instagram. We're certainly getting some traction, but we're pretty sure that there are many more people we can reach. The important thing here is, we need your help to do so. Here's a link to share with your friends and painting groups and let them know what's going on and invite them to the campaign to see if it's something they'd like to join us on:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1560579763/the-art-of-volumes-4-6?ref=asxz4t

Listening to Paint Dry with Mike and Dan

If you'd like to listen to another great interview about painting minis and the content of these books, you can check out Chris Suhre's interview on LTPDWMD right HERE.

What would you like to see from the artists during the rest of the campaign? Let us know and we'll see what we can do :)

Cheers
